The Crest Theatre, built by FOX WEST COAST THEATRES in 1948 and Opened July 7th 1949, was bought by Gloria León from actors Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft in 1996.  It has served as a venue for a variety of movie types, from Bruce Lee to Mexican movies and films from India, has been a meeting place for a church community, and most recently has hosted a variety of live events.

The Crest Theatre was designated in (2010) as an historical landmark.

The Crest Theatre’s mission statement is to “serve as a multi-entertainment center to provide media entertainment and a variety of events to the Fresno, California, community, with an emphasis on serving the Hispanic community and preserving the Theatre’s historical attributes”.
